Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki has caught the eye of several top European clubs this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur all showing interest.
However, Borussia Dortmund emerged as the frontrunner for his signature. While Cherki is eager to join the German side, a transfer hasn’t been finalized yet.
Despite Dortmund appearing to win the Cherki race, Foot Mercato recently reported that a move to Germany is becoming more likely for the Lyon native, but it’s to RB Leipzig.
Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg provided new information on this file, noting that RB Leipzig are in talks to sign Cherki as a replacement for Dani Olmo, who will be leaving to join Barcelona.
Lyon is asking for €15 million plus €2 million in add-ons, while Leipzig is also considering Johan Bakayoko and Francisco Conceição as options.

This transfer to Leipzig, or if the Premier League clubs revisit this file, could give Cherki the opportunity to showcase his talent abroad, especially after he finished the season with three goals and nine assists in 39 matches across all competitions.
