Manchester United’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte seems to be fading. The two clubs haven’t been able to agree on a transfer fee, which has prevented the deal from going through.

According to a recent report from David Ornstein at The Athletic, Manchester United is now looking at other midfield options since talks with PSG about Manuel Ugarte have hit a snag, mainly because PSG is asking for €60 million.

The price is the sticking point, so the Red Devils are considering other alternatives to bolster their midfield. Journalist Ben Jacobs recently noted that Andre from Fluminense is a backup option for Manchester United.

South American football expert Tim Vickery also believes that if Ugarte becomes too expensive, Manchester United will pursue Andre as a cheaper alternative.

“They have been looking at Manuel Ugarte, Uruguayan, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain that’s going to cost a lot.. and United, their interest is cold because Paris Saint-Germain are asking a lot of money,” Vickery said on talkSPORT.It’s possible that United could enter the fray for Andre and pay a lot less for him than they would for Ugarte.”

It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils do proceed with an alternative target to Ugarte or if this is a tactic to scare PSG into lowering their asking price.
