Former PSG Star ‘Really Motivated’ for New Chapter at Real Madrid, Teammate Says

It’s been over a month since Kylian Mbappé left Paris Saint-Germain for Real Marid. The capital club’s all-time leading goal scorer is now adapting to his new environment and drawing praise from his teammates.

Mbappé left PSG in late June when his contract expired, allowing him to join Real Madrid as a free agent. Moreover, the Frenchman’s first official game with the Spanish side comes on Wednesday when Los Blancos face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup.

Ahead of Wednesday’s contest, Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde spoke about what he sees from the 2018 FIFA World Cup as he adapts to a new country, club, and team.

“I’ve trained with him a few times, and it’s clear he’s one of the best players in the world,” Valverde said (h/t Le10Sport). “He brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team. You can see he’s really motivated in this new chapter at Real Madrid. I’m sure he’ll make a significant impact and leave his mark on the club’s history.”

Winning the Super Cup against Atalanta is ideal if Mbappé wants to start off on the right foot with Real Madrid supporters and his new club. A trophy to start the 2024-25 season would be a good omen for the 2022 FIFA World Cup runner-up as he starts this chapter.
