Erik ten Hag Reveals Why Chelsea, PSG Target Was Absent from Man Utd’s Squad Against Fulham

Jadon Sancho rumors could be heating up in the final stages of the summer transfer window. Moreover, the player wasn’t on the squad for the 1-0 victory over Fulham to start the 2024-25 Premier League season, but there was a quick explanation for that omission.

Sancho is linked to Paris Saint-Germain as a recent report from  Le Parisien’s Marc Mechenoua revealed that the French giants remain interested in the Manchester United star.

Fussball reported on Friday that Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Manchester United a deal that includes a transfer fee along with two of their academy players. Another option for the London club is a loan deal for Sancho, with an obligation to buy while covering his full salary.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that his future remains more open than ever. Nonetheless, manager Erik ten Hag provided a quick explanation as to why the 24-year-old wasn’t on the squad for the match against Fulham.

“First of all we need squad depth,” ten Hag said postgame. “There will be a decision, survival of the fittest. I can only put 20 players in the squad. Jadon in the week had an ear infection and was not 100 percent fit. He could play but we made choices. That can change.”

The summer transfer window is in its final stages, so it will be interesting to see if Sancho remains at Old Trafford or whether a club decides to make a last-minute swoop for the player.
