Bayern Munich Chief Reveals Plans for Barcelona and PSG-Linked Player This Season

Paris Saint-Germain has been linked to Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for the last few months. However, no deal has transpired for the player, who is also rumored to be on FC Barcelona’s radar.

Nonetheless, a few days ago, Le Parisien’s Marc Mechenoua reported that PSG have been trying to sign Kimmich for several months, but he has no plans to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Instead, he intends to stay until his contract expires and then leave as a free agent in 2025. Moreover, France isn’t Kimmich’s top choice if he does move; he prefers Spain or England.

Bayern Munich club chief Max Eberl confirmed that the player will be counted on for this 2024-25 season as Kimmich enters the final year of his contract for the time being without a new deal.

“We had a plan in advance,” Ebrel said. “For us, it was clear that Josh would end up in the center with us again. We put a lot of thought into it.”

It will be interesting to see whether Kimmich eventually extends his contract as the season goes along or if he does proceed and leaves as a free agent next summer.
