Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport recently reported that Paris Saint-Germain are working on negotiating personal terms with Nico Williams. However, the Parisians’ pursuit of the Athletic Club star has hit a major hurdle.

According to a report from CaughtOffside last month, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and PSG are all interested in Williams. Despite the interest from several top clubs, the 22-year-old isn’t going anywhere.

Diario SPORT reports that Williams has officially turned down PSG’s offer. Manager Luis Enrique and sports director Luis Campos have been informed, and they believe he’ll be staying at Athletic Club.

Mundo Deportivo’s Fernando Polo recently reported that the UEFA Euro 2024 winner is thinking about staying with Athletic Club and renewing his contract, which would increase his release clause to €100 million. As a result, the clubs keen on the player might have to look at alternative targets.

Williams also impressed at the club level, making 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club last season. He scored eight goals and provided 19 assists, contributing to the team’s success in winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
