Atletico Madrid Close to Securing Arsenal and PSG Target in €75M Deal, Romano Says

Julian Álvarez is considering a move away from Manchester City as he looks for a bigger role in his career. He’s been linked to clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid, but it seems that the Spanish side is currently in the lead for his transfer.

The Sunday Mirror reports that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Álvarez, but the London club might need to sell a few players to fund the transfer. Manchester City is said to be asking for between €80 million and €90 million.

Moreover, David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that Atlético Madrid are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester City for Álvarez. Although a final deal hasn’t been finalized yet, the discussions are currently centered around the price and payment terms.

The latest information on the Álvarez file comes from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Atletico Madrid are nearing a deal to sign Álvarez for over €75 million, with efforts underway to complete the transfer by Tuesday.

In the 2023-24 season, the 24-year-old appeared in 54 matches for Manchester City, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists. His impressive performance suggests he is eager for a more consistent role in the starting lineup, and it seems he may find that opportunity with Los Colchoneros.
