Paris Saint-Germain was one of the clubs linked to Manchester City forward Julian Álvarez. However, the player will reportedly join Atlético de Madrid, but for a quick moment on Sunday, there was an opening for the Parisians to hijack this deal.
On Sunday, reports emerged that Samu Omorodion’s move to Chelsea has officially fallen through. Significant issues have been confirmed, and Omorodion is expected to return to Madrid in the coming hours, with a strong possibility of joining another club within the next few days.
Moreover, the collapse of this deal could cause a ripple effect with the Álvarez being one of the affected. Still, the two clubs are not allowing for a domino effect to happen and affect other deals they have in place.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are firm: the Conor Gallagher and Álvarez deals won’t fall apart despite the setback with Omorodion’s move. Both clubs are actively exploring new solutions, and João Félix is part of the ongoing negotiations between them.
🚨😮💨 Chelsea and Atlético Madrid are clear: there is no chance of the Conor Gallagher and Julián Álvarez deals collapsing after Samu Omorodion's move fell through. They are seeking new solutions.
