Chelsea need a No. 9 before the summer transfer window closes, and they are eyeing Victor Osimhen. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the latest on the Blues pursuit and there’s a firm stance.
Last weekend, Samu Omorodion’s transfer to Chelsea fell through. As a result, the Blues are renewing their interest in Osimhen, who is linked to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported this week that the Napoli star still wants to join the Parisians since the French giants are definitely his desired destination.
Plettenberg adds that Chelsea are still trying to sign the 25-year-old striker and has heard that Arsenal made a casual inquiry a few weeks ago.
Romano notes that Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen remains strong, with talks having been reignited weeks ago and still ongoing.
However, the club has recently informed Napoli that they might explore a loan deal in the final days. Osimhen and his representatives have been firm in their stance, rejecting the idea of a loan and refusing to take a pay cut.

Since transferring from Ligue 1’s LOSC Lille to Napoli, the Nigerian international has netted 76 goals in 133 appearances, including 65 goals in Serie A. Osimhen was also pivotal in securing Napoli’s league title in the 2022-23 season.
