Just like when Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. left Paris Saint-Germain, many will discredit the club now that Kylian Mbappé has packed up his bags and moved to Real Madrid. Despite the Frenchman’s departure, PSG should be just fine heading into the 2024-25 season.
Many expect Les Parisiens to dominate domestically, there are questions as to whether PSG can reach the semi-finals or beyond in the upcoming UEFA Champions League tournament. While no wagering casino bonuses NZ are easy to use, it won’t be as easy for PSG to navigate the Champions League format.
Working in PSG’s favor will be a strengthened midfield and an attacking front that will benefit from another season together and potentially more freedom without Mbappé.
In the midfield, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Vitinha should start most matches in Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Champions League. Fabian Ruiz is coming off an incredible performance with Spain at the UEFA European Championship, but he will face competition for playing time with João Neves coming into the team. The 19-year-old Portugal international is widely considered one of the top young talents in Europe. His ability to stay calm under pressure, hold onto possession, and create going forward fits perfectly in Luis Enrique’s system.
Then there’s Gabriel Moscardo, the 18-year-old who signed for PSG last January and was immediately loaned back to Corinthians. The Brazilian is already learning French and appears to have added muscle to his frame this summer. He could step in and make Luis Enrique’s midfield selection difficult.
There’s still several weeks left in the transfer window, but we know that Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé will be around for another season. Both represented France at the Euros this summer and should score plenty of goals this season. Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani remain with PSG, but speculation about their futures continues to swirl, with rumors that Victor Osimhen could leave Napoli for the French capital. Then there’s Désiré Doué, the Stade Rennais standout, who is rumored to be close to coming to PSG and could play as a winger or attacking midfielder. We won’t know what the likely starting attack is for PSG, but with these names, supporters should be treated to some entertaining football.
The Champions League will be more difficult to win than ever before, with more games and more competition, but PSG showed last year that they are on the right trajectory and the club is putting the building blocks together to win it all.
