Kylian Mbappé was introduced as a Real Madrid player this week as he begins a new chapter. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are constructing a team this summer that can withstand the loss of the 25-year-old this 2024-25 season.
With the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner off their books, the capital club have money to spend over the coming transfer windows. This summer could be the first of the Parisians’ spending, considering the amount of money they don’t need to spend on wages for players like Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr.
Mbappé was the last superstar to leave this summer with his free transfer to Real Madrid. Moreover, Sky Sports News reports that with the Frenchman leaving, PSG are currently saving €200 million per year.

Despite these two sides going their separate ways, they could unite if the Mbappé camp decides to take legal action against PSG. ESPN reported on Friday that Mbappé, through his mother Fayza Lamari, has threatened to sue PSG if they don’t pay his unpaid salaries and bonuses.
Last month, L’Equipe reported that Mbappé is demanding €100 million from PSG for unpaid bonuses and salaries, covering wages owed for April and May. Reports indicated that Mbappé verbally agreed to waive €55 million in due bonuses, but this agreement never altered his contract.
PSG claims that Mbappé verbally committed to giving up €80 million in loyalty bonuses and salary, but no formal agreement was signed.
