PSG’s Interest in Manchester United Winger Hinges on Club’s Decision, Fabrizio Romano Says

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Manuel Ugarte, but Paris Saint-Germain might be eyeing one of United’s own players. On Monday, reports surfaced that the capital club are keen on winger Jadon Sancho.

Sancho was on loan at Borussia Dortmund for the latter half of the 2023-24 season and played a key role in helping the German club reach the UEFA Champions League final. PSG got a firsthand look at his skills during their semifinal matchup against Dortmund.

Foot Mercato initially reported that PSG extended a contract offer to Sancho, and negotiations are progressing positively. Moreover, the 24-year-old winger is enthusiastic about the project PSG has presented.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided more information on this file, revealing that Manchester United’s stance on Sancho could hold up a potential transfer.

“PSG are looking for a player in that position, but at the moment not actively negotiating yet, because it depends on what Manchester United want to do with Jadon Sancho,” Romano said (h/t Give Me Sport).

“So interest, yes, waiting to see if it will develop or not. But for sure, he is a player appreciated by Paris Saint-Germain, and they have had some contacts with the agents of the player.”

CaughtOffside reports that PSG have engaged in discussions with Sancho’s representatives and are preparing to negotiate with Manchester United. However, the deal could cost PSG between €50 million to €60 million.

  1. United cannot afford to use Sancho in any deal for Ugarte.
Rashford, only 1 year into his current deal, will likely prove ineffective again; only when the current deal has a year to run, will Rashford start to run and play. Antony is as much use as a chocolate fireguard. That leaves Garnacho and Amad. So the sale of Sancho would leave them short in the wide areas.
