PSG Star on Bayern Munich, Barcelona’s Radar Having Disappointing Euros, Pundit Says

UEFA Euro 2024 has seen various young talents such as Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, Jamal Musiala, and Arda Güler show off their potential. However, one pundit says Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons has to have a breakout performance.

L’Equipe recently reported that Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Manchester City have all contacted PSG to explore the possibility of signing Simons this summer.

Despite the interest Simons is generating in the transfer market, RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo stated that he’s waiting for that breakout international performance from the PSG youngster.

“He disappoints me every time,” Riolo said (h/t Le10Sport). “I think more and more about the overrating.”

The 21-year-old is coming off an excellent 2023-24 season with RB Leipzig and has recorded three assists in this tournament. Still, that might not be enough for Riolo, considering the player is expected to make a big-time move this summer.

Bayern Munich are pushing to secure the 21-year-old midfielder. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich are actively pursuing Simons, making daily efforts to finalize a deal for the Dutch player.

Romano further mentions that Bayern Munich is intensifying its pursuit from both the player’s and club’s perspectives. RB Leipzig is also actively involved in the competition for Simons.

The Netherlands are off to the semifinals to face England, so Simons still has the opportunity for the breakout match.
