In recent days, Napoli’s standout Victor Osimhen has become a prominent target for Paris Saint-Germain. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Osimhen is enthusiastic about PSG’s project and has given his approval for the transfer to move forward.
Since moving from Ligue 1’s LOSC Lille to Napoli, the Nigerian international has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances, including 65 in Serie A. Osimhen played a pivotal role in Napoli’s 2022-23 Serie A title triumph.
However, reports suggest that this file has hit a halt. According to Le10Sport, PSG currently have no plans to recruit a new No. 9. Luis Enrique is set to start the 2024-2025 season with Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani.
Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reported that PSG are unwilling to exceed an €80 million bid for Osimhen and has no plans to meet his €130 million release clause.

While Napoli is open to selling below the release clause, they are firm on a minimum price of €105 million to €110 million.
Romano has also indicated that the transfer of Osimhen to PSG is currently on hold and could fall through. Recent discussions between the clubs have hit a significant snag due to a substantial valuation gap.
Napoli had sought to include Kang-in Lee in the deal, but PSG firmly rejected this request, stating that Lee is a crucial player for them and cannot be part of the transfer.

If this deal falls through, it will put a hurdle in Napoli’s pursuit of Chelsea veteran Romelu Lukaku. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio recently reported that Napoli and Lukaku have agreed on personal terms.
The Chelsea striker is expected to earn €6 million per season over a three-year contract, with additional bonuses. However, if Osimhen doesn’t leave, a transfer is unlikely.
