While Manchester United beat Paris Saint-Germain in the race for former LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro, it appears the Parisians are about to beat the Red Devils for SL Benfica midfielder João Neves.
Neves is PSG’s top target, and a recent report from Sports Zone reveals that the capital club have agreed to personal terms with the teenager, and negotiations continue with Benfica.
Moreover, a report from Record also highlights that Neves prefers a move to PSG over Manchester United.
The same Portuguese media outlet reveals that Neves’ transfer to PSG is expected to be finalized by next week. PSG has put forward a €70 million offer, but Benfica is still trying to negotiate for a bit more money.

Last month, Sports Zone also reported that Neves’ agent, Jorge Mendes, supports the move but insists the capital club sell some midfielders first. It will be interesting to see which midfielders could depart if PSG does secure Neves in the coming days.
It will be interesting to see if the French giants can wrap up this transfer or if there’s a last-minute swoop from Manchester United. After all, Yoro reportedly had his heart set on Real Madrid and will now be playing at Old Trafford.
