Athletic Club’s Nico Williams has grabbed the attention of several top European clubs this summer, as they look to strengthen their attacks. His stock has risen significantly following his standout performance at UEFA Euro 2024, where he was instrumental in Spain winning the tournament.
CaughtOffside reported last month that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are all keen on Williams.
Moreover, Mario Cortegana from The Athletic noted that PSG has already begun exploring the possibility of signing him. RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins provided new information on this file that displayed the aggressive push the Parisians are attempting.
According to Hawkins, PSG are working on reaching a deal with Williams for personal terms. He’s one of the left-wingers they’re eyeing, along with Jadon Sancho. However, Barcelona is currently leading the race.

Despite leading the race, Barcelona reportedly lacks liquidity, so it is looking for ways to raise €58 million to pay the release clause. Cadena SER reported that Barcelona might seek another loan to pay the forward’s release clause.
Last season, Williams made 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club, scoring eight goals and registering 19 assists. Additionally, the winger played a role in winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
