Manchester United Sends Underwhelming Transfer Offer to Bayern Munich for PSG Target

Manchester United have signed LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer and thanks to his young age, the signing will bolster their defense for the present and future.

With Yoro joining the team, it’s worth wondering how this move might affect their continued interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt. A recent report has revealed that the negotiations between Manchester United and Bayern Munich for de Ligt have stalled.

The Premier League side are reluctant to meet Bayern’s demand of €50 million plus bonuses. Moreover, it seems the two sides won’t be getting any closer to an agreement.

According to Bild (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United have made their first bid for de Ligt, but it falls short of Bayern Munich’s asking price.

Bayern are open to selling de Ligt, who would reunite with Erik ten Hag at United, but they want €50 million (£42 million). Manchester United’s offer is reportedly €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons, totaling £29.4 million.

Negotiations are expected to continue, with the Red Devils hoping Bayern Munich’s need to sell players before making summer purchases will work in their favor.

Last month, RMC Sport reported that Paris Saint-Germain are very interested in de Ligt, who is under contract with Bayern until 2027, and see him as a crucial addition to their team.

It will be interesting to see whether the Parisians or another club attempt to hijack this transfer or perhaps de Ligt doesn’t move at all.
