Manchester United Receives Boost as PSG Lowers Asking Price to €59M for Star Midfielder, Report Says

Manchester United are considering Manuel Ugarte to bolster their midfield this summer. However, the Red Devils have reportedly faced a hurdle of not being on par with the asking price Paris Saint-Germain want for the Uruguayan.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester United have agreed to personal terms with Ugarte. Nonetheless, the issue regarding a transfer fee remains as both teams value the player differently. A recent report from L’Equipe claims that the Parisians could be asking for €70 million for Ugarte.

While it seems the two sides are at a standstill, CaughtOffside reports that the Parisians could have lowered their asking demands for the midfielder. According to their report, PSG have set a €59 million price tag for Ugarte, and the gap between their valuation and Manchester United’s offer isn’t too wide.

The Red Devils are looking to sign the Uruguayan international for around €50 million and €55 million. Ugarte is open to moving to Old Trafford but wants the clubs to agree on the fee before deciding to join the Premier League giants.

In his column for CaughtOffside, Romano recently shared updates on this situation, stating that discussions between the two parties are still in progress.

“For Ugarte, they remain in conversations with Paris Saint-Germain while they have an agreement with the player,” Romano noted. “I’m hearing there are contacts ongoing between Man United and PSG since June, not official bids accepted or rejected – it’s a constant dialogue between the clubs.”

  1. Media reports over the last month were that PSG wanted €70,million for Ugarte, a pure coincidence being the cash they were spending on Neves, when they only spent €60,million when buying Ugarte a year ago.
    United had been offering €45,million + €5,million add on’s.
Suggestion, in my opinion, would be to increase add on’s to €10,million to close a deal or move on to Zubimendi or Hjulmund.

  2. A strong defence makes a team difficult to beat and that’s why the team should sort out their weaknesses first which is the defence before the midfield. There’s a player who can play in midfield and centre back as well and so the purchase of Deligt is very important.

  3. Manchester United needs to sign zubimendi or hjulumand not ugarte who is an average player
