Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte to bolster their midfield. While the Premier League side are keen on the player, the situation is at a standstill.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with Ugarte.

However, there’s still a disagreement over the transfer fee, as both clubs have different valuations of the player. According to a recent report from L’Equipe, PSG might be asking for €70 million for Ugarte.

Romano provided new information on the Ugarte file, noting that the Ugarte situation remains unchanged. Manchester United and PSG are still in daily contact, but there’s nothing further than the dialogue the two teams are having as the asking price is the major hurdle.

FootballTransfers reported that the Red Devils are considering Sporting CP’s Danish international midfielder Morten Hjulmand, who recently scored a spectacular goal against England at Euro 2024. This comes as the club hesitates to meet the asking price for Ugarte.

It will be interesting to see whether both sides reach an agreement or if the Premier League club pursues an alternative target.
