Manchester United have signed LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro this summer. However, with the teenager joining the English club, it’s worth wondering how this move might affect their continued interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

According to a recent report from Bild, Manchester United have made their initial bid for de Ligt, but it doesn’t meet Bayern Munich’s asking price. The Bavarian side are willing to sell de Ligt, who would reunite with Erik ten Hag at United, but they want €50 million (£42 million).

The Red Devils’ offer is said to be €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons, totaling £29.4 million. While the clubs might be far apart on a transfer fee, Bayern Munich are proceeding as though the player will be sold this summer.

Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich are still in contact with Manchester United over de Ligt and the Dutchman will not be with the Bundesliga side squad as they depart for South Korea later today.

Last month, RMC Sport revealed that Paris Saint-Germain have a strong interest in de Ligt, who is contracted with Bayern Munich until 2027.

PSG considers de Ligt a crucial addition to their squad and the capital club might pursue a move for the center-back, although other teams could also show interest. Alternatively, de Ligt may choose to stay at Bayern Munich.
