Paris Saint-Germain are keen on acquiring SL Benfica midfielder João Neves, who has drawn interest from multiple top European clubs. Earlier this month, Benfica’s sporting director, Rui Costa, turned down two €70 million offers.
Recently, A Bola reported that PSG made a €70 million bid while also mentioning Manchester United’s €60 million offer for the player. However, Benfica are aiming for a fee closer to his €120 million release clause despite these offers.
RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins also reported that Neves is PSG’s top priority and keen to move from Benfica, but talks have hit a snag over Benfica’s steep asking price. Signing Neves might prompt the departure of a midfielder like Fabián Ruiz.
Still, Sports Zone reports that Neves and PSG have agreed to personal terms. According to their report, PSG have tentatively agreed with Neves, and negotiations continue with Benfica.

PSG are reluctant to meet his €120 million release clause, and Benfica has already turned down PSG’s initial offer. Last month, Sports Zone also reported that Neves’ agent, Jorge Mendes, supports the move but insists the capital club sell some midfielders first.
