Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt appears to be on the verge of joining Manchester United this summer. However, nothing is official yet and the discussions between the two sides might be hitting a standstill.
Last month, RMC Sport reported that PSG are very interested in de Ligt, who is under contract with Bayern until 2027, and see him as a crucial addition to their team.
The latest information comes from Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Bayern Munich are still waiting for Manchester United to make a final, concrete offer for de Ligt.
There haven’t been any serious negotiations in the past 72 hours. The agreement between de Ligt and Manchester United remains in place, and the 24-year-old is still eager to join the Red Devils.

If de Ligt stays with Bayern Munich, it’s very unlikely the Bavarian club will proceed with signing Jonathan Tah. It will be interesting to see if this could be an opening for PSG to pursue the Dutchman to bolster their defense.
Nonetheless, Bayern Munich supporters don’t want the Dutchman to leave. Christian Falk recently reported that 68,000 Bayern Munich fans have signed a petition to stop de Ligt from departing the club.
