Paris Saint-Germain are eager to sign SL Benfica’s midfielder João Neves, who has caught the attention of several top European clubs. However, the Portuguese side are standing firm with their asking price.
Earlier this month, Benfica’s sporting director, Rui Costa, rejected two offers of €70 million. Despite the high price, sporting advisor Luis Campos and manager Luis Enrique remain interested.
On Friday, a report from A Bola confirmed that the Parisians have offered €70 million, but their information notes that Manchester United have submitted €60 million for the player.

Despite these offers, Benfica are holding out for a fee closer to his €120 million release clause. Last month, a report from Sports Zone revealed that Neves wants to join PSG this summer, as Luís Campos and Luis Enrique have convinced him.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, supports the move but insists the club sells some midfielders first. However, PSG refuses to pay his release clause.
Moreover, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that neither Arsenal nor Manchester United are looking to trigger the €120 million release clause or come close to paying that amount.
