Recent speculation surrounds Manchester City striker Julian Álvarez after newfound links to Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports suggest the Argentine is seeking a more prominent role than what the Premier League club can currently offer him, especially with Erling Haaland occupying the starting striker position.

During the 2023-24 season, the 24-year-old featured in 54 matches for Manchester City, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists. His impressive stats highlight his eagerness for a consistent place in the starting lineup.

Last week, Marcos Benito from El Chiringuito reported that Álvarez has requested to leave Manchester City. The Argentine declined a contract extension and a more lucrative offer that would have been available at the end of the season.

TyC Sports’ César Luis Merlo reports that PSG face competition for the forward as Atlético Madrid has made progress in their pursuit of Julián Álvarez, initiating negotiations for the Argentine national team forward.

Álvarez is inclined to leave Manchester City due to his desire for more playing time and a more prominent role. This past weekend, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Manchester City don’t want to sell, and it would take a £70 million-plus offer to make them engage.
