In recent days, Manchester City striker Julian Álvarez is again back in the transfer rumor mill. The Argentine reportedly wants a more prominent role than the Premier League club can offer him, with Erling Haaland occupying the starting striker role.
This past 2023-24 season, the 24-year-old played 54 matches for Manchester City, racking up 19 goals and 13 assists. With numbers like these, it’s easy to see why the Argentine is eager for a regular spot in the starting lineup.
Last Friday, Marcos Benito from El Chiringuito reported that Álvarez has asked to leave Manchester City. The Argentine turned down a contract extension and a better deal at the end of the season; his current contract runs until 2028.
Journalist Ben Jacobs provided the latest on the Álvarez file, revealing that PSG could still try for the Argentine. However, Manchester City don’t want to sell, and it would take a £70 million-plus offer to make them engage.
PSG are serious about João Neves but have no plans to trigger his €120m release clause. They are prepared to pay Benfica around €75m.🇵🇹

Argentina play Colombia in the Copa América final on Sunday, and once this game is over, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Álvarez and his agents will have talks with Manchester City to discuss his future.
