Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is drawing interest from various top European clubs, now more than ever, considering his performance at UEFA Euro 2024. One of the clubs keen on the 21-year-old is Chelsea, and one player could be looking to convince him to head to London.

According to a recent report from CaughtOffside, Williams has caught the attention of several top clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and PSG.

Moreover, on the Chelsea side, Marc Cucurella has shared that he’s trying to persuade his Spain teammate Nico Williams to join the Blues after their Euro 2024 campaign wraps up.

“He is a great player, he is bringing out all his potential,” Cucurella told Sport (h/t The Mirror). “It is a source of pride that he is on our team, that he is our teammate, and with players like him, everything is easier.

“He would be a great signing [for Barcelona], but it all depends on what he wants. I’ve been telling him to sign for Chelsea… In the end, everything depends on him. He is very young, with a lot of experience. I think he will be a great player.”

Cucurella probably isn’t the only teammate who could be looking to convince the winger to join them at the club level. Barcelona have Pedri and Lamine Yamal, Manchester City have Rodri, and PSG have Fabián Ruiz.

Williams has a €58 million release clause, and the player reportedly wants any interested club to pay that amount as it leaves a substantial fee for his boyhood club.
