Paris Saint-Germain missed out on another defender that they were reportedly linked to in former Juventus ace Dean Huijsen. The teenager has left the Serie A side for the Premier League to join Bournemouth.

La Stampa recently reported that Huijsen is keen on joining PSG with other information, such as Tuttosport reporting that Liverpool and Newcastle United have shown interest in the center-back.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Huijsen has reached a verbal agreement with the Cherries. The agreement between Bournemouth and Juventus will be €18 million plus a sell-on clause, and Huijsen has agreed on a long-term.

On Tuesday, the announcement was made official, with Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake noting that they have secured a player with potential that’s yet to be tapped.

“We are delighted to bring in a player of such high calibre on a long-term deal,” Blake told afcb.co.uk. “Dean is someone that has such exciting potential and we are all excited to see where his journey with the club will go. We’re looking forward to welcoming him to Vitality Stadium and working together to help develop further all the qualities that he already possesses.”

During his loan stint with Roma last season, Huijsen played 26 matches, scoring two goals and providing two assists. It will be interesting to see what direction PSG takes to improve their center-back position.
