Manchester United are reportedly keen on Manuel Ugarte, but he isn’t the only Paris Saint-Germain player on their radar. Xavi Simons appears to be on the way out and the Red Devils want to ensure they bring him to Old Trafford too.
The Sunday Mirror’s Simon Mullock reported that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is considering a loan move for Simons. Moreover, the Premier League side aren’t alone in this pursuit.
Bayern Munich are also keen on the 21-year-old as L’Equipe reported that the Bavarian club have made an initial offer for Simons, including a purchase option valued at €90 million.
Nonetheless, new information from L’Equipe further strengthens the interest the English club have in Simons. According to the French media outlet, Manchester United are pursuing a move for Simons.
Moreover, Manchester United have been working on a deal to bring Simons to Old Trafford for a year now. Still, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that a move to the Red Devils has a hurdle.

“Xavi Simons continues to be linked with Manchester United and it’s something realistic because there has long been plenty of interest from him around Europe, including in England,” Romano noted in his Daily Briefing column.
“However, I’ve been checking with my sources and they’re still saying the same thing – that Simons is most likely to continue in Germany next season… I don’t expect this to be a long saga that drags into August because Simons wants to decide soon, but for now it’s between Bayern and Leipzig, and Man United are not in advanced talks over Simons.”
