RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported on Saturday that Paris Saint-Germain is working on agreeing to personal terms with Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.

However, FC Barcelona have the edge on this front over the Parisians and any other interested club such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur.

With the Parisians pushing for Willams, Mundo Deprtivo reported that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, will not be traveling with the squad to the United States today for their preseason tour as they prepare for the 2024-25 season.

The latest information comes from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano as he reveals that Barcelona has reached an agreement with Williams’ agent regarding his salary and contract structure. Now, the decision is entirely up to the player.

Mundo Deportivo’s Fernando Polo recently reported that PSG are ready to pay more than Williams’ €58 million release clause at Athletic Club.

Barcelona know that signing the 22-year-old has become tougher with PSG now in the mix, as their offer is attractive both sportingly and financially.

Last season, Williams made 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club, scoring eight goals and registering 19 assists. Additionally, the winger played a role in winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
