According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain are working on negotiating personal terms with Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. However, this could be a challenging task since he might be keen on staying in La Liga.

This summer, Williams has caught the eye of several top European clubs looking to strengthen their attacks. His standout performance at UEFA Euro 2024, where he played a crucial role in Spain winning the competition, has significantly boosted his value.

According to a report from CaughtOffside last month, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in Williams.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona continues to wait for Williams’ decision. Premier League clubs and PSG are also keeping a close watch, though there’s a sense he may prefer to stay in Spain.

Moreover, new information further backs Romano’s information regarding Williams leaning toward staying in Spain. SPORT reports (h/t The Mirror) that Williams promised his brother Inaki that he would play one more season at Bilbao and that looks to be the case.

Last season, Williams made 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club, scoring eight goals and registering 19 assists. Additionally, the winger played a role in winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
