Barcelona and PSG-Linked Player Contemplating Retirement Amid Euro 2024 Playing Time Woes

Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich is reportedly considering a club switch this summer. Recent rumors have linked the 28-year-old with moves to FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Sky Sport’s Dharmesh Sheth, Barcelona, and an unnamed Premier League club are interested in the 28-year-old. Coman currently earns €15 million gross per year, so it will be interesting to see if he gets similar wages should he leave.

While the capital club reportedly has eyes on its former youth product, Bayern Munich are also keen on Xavi Simons, who is linked to Barcelona. Nonetheless, the player might be keen on leaving football.

L’Equipe reports that Coman is contemplating retirement from international football. Despite putting in considerable effort to regain fitness for the Euros, he only played 15 minutes throughout the tournament.

This experience has left him feeling ‘scarred’ and questioning his future with the national team. Moreover, Coman has never envisioned a prolonged career in professional football.

It will be interesting to see if the player decides to retire or if this is emotions following the UEFA Euro 2024 elimination.
