According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are worried about competition from Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.
Williams’ profile has soared, particularly after his standout performance at UEFA Euro 2024, where he played a crucial role in Spain winning the competition. Last month, a report from CaughtOffside revealed that Williams has caught the attention of several top clubs.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and PSG are among those interested. The new information comes from SPORT’s Toni Juanmartí and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Juanmartí reports that Williams is about to decide his future. He has three options: join Barça, move to PSG, or stay at Athletic Club. Opinions at Barça are mixed; some are hopeful, but many are concerned about PSG’s strong interest.
They feel it would take a miracle for Williams to choose Barça if PSG decides to compete for him.

Meanwhile, Romano reports that Barcelona remain focused on Williams as their top priority. They will only pursue other signings once they receive his final answer and there have been discussions regarding Dani Olmo. Still, no progress will be made until the situation with Williams is resolved.
🔵🔴⚡️ Barcelona’s stance has not changed: total priority to Nico Williams, no other signing will be activated until they get final answer from Nico.
Contacts took place for Dani Olmo but nothing will happen or advance until Nico deal is clarified.
