On Thursday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester United and Manuel Ugarte have agreed on personal terms, marking the initial steps toward his move to Old Trafford.

Romano also mentioned that contract details were discussed, and Ugarte is eager to join Manchester United, even without the promise of UEFA Champions League football. However, the Premier League club still needs to be cautious of interest from other teams this summer.

On Friday, journalist Ben Jacobs provided more details regarding the Ugarte file. According to Jacobs, PSG are firm on its valuation of Ugarte and is in no hurry to sell him. Ugarte is interested in joining Manchester United, but they are not the only club that has inquired about him.

Aston Villa showed interest before turning to Everton’s Amadou Onana, and another unnamed Premier League club is still in active talks. Bayern Munich and several Italian clubs have also expressed interest. While Manchester United sources insist no formal offers have been made, PSG sources claim multiple verbal bids under €45 million have been received.

Clubs hope Ugarte’s price will drop if PSG secures Joao Neves. There is optimism that a deal can be reached with Benfica, with PSG hoping to pay around €75 million. They have no plans to trigger the €120 million release clause.

L’Equipe reports that PSG are asking for €70 million for Ugarte, even though the Uruguayan has already agreed on terms with Manchester United. The two clubs still haven’t aligned their positions.
