Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to bolster their defense this summer transfer window, and many targets are surfacing. Among the latest to come out is Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori, but Arsenal might have the lead on this file.
Last season, Calafiori made 37 appearances while scoring two goals and registering five assists for a Bologna side that punched their ticket to the UEFA Champions League. This production at the club level has led the Gunners to aggressively move for the defender.
Sports Zone recently reported that Calafiori has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal. While the terms between the player and the English club appear to be finalized now it’s all about the clubs finding common ground on a transfer fee.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Arsenal have had an initial £40 million offer for Calafiori rejected, but they are only £2 million away from Bologna’s valuation.

Moreover, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that Arsenal and Chelsea are the only two clubs currently in talks with the 22-year-old center-back.
Barring anything unforeseen, it doesn’t seem like the reigning Ligue 1 champions will be landing the Italian defender.
