Fabián Ruiz really made a name for himself during Spain’s successful UEFA Euro 2024 campaign. The 28-year-old PSG midfielder started all six matches and delivered two goals and two assists as the Spaniards won the competition.
He was impressive across the board, averaging 1.7 key passes and 65.2 passes per game and a 91 percent pass completion rate. His standout performance clearly highlighted what a fantastic tournament he had with La Roja.
As a result, the former Napoli standout’s profile rose during these last few weeks and journalist Duncan Castles reported this week that Arsenal have started discussions with PSG about acquiring Ruiz.
The deal hinges on Arsenal selling one of their current midfielders. They’re aiming for a one-year loan with an obligation to buy.
However, Foot Mercato reports that Arsenal haven’t made a move for Ruiz, who is under contract with PSG until June 2027. The player from Los Palacios y Villafranca should be able to build on his promising summer and make a strong case for staying in Paris.
