Earlier this month, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Paris Saint-Germain has recently begun pursuing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna to strengthen their center-back position.
Di Marzio has pointed out PSG’s keen interest in Calafiori, signaling a strong pursuit. Arsenal is currently ahead in the race to secure his signature, with Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen also in the mix.
According to a recent report from Sky Sport Italia, Arsenal’s efforts to sign Calafiori have hit a snag despite offering the €50 million asking price. The deal is currently stalled because Bologna is pushing for more favorable terms.
Nonetheless, information Wednesday revealed another issue that could halter Calafiori heading to London this summer.
The Mirror reports that Arsenal’s move for Riccardo Calafiori continues to stall due to a stand-off between Bologna and Basel over his sell-on fee. Negotiations have been at a standstill for weeks, with Bologna even threatening to call off the deal.

It’ll be intriguing to see if PSG make a late move for Calafiori, especially if Gianluigi Donnarumma can influence him. Calafiori had a solid 2023-24 season, playing 37 total games for the Serie A side, scoring twice, and providing five assists.
Not like the Italians to renege on a deal.
