Manchester City striker Julian Álvarez might be seeking a move away from Guardiola and his team this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested. After all the speculation, Álvarez has finally commented on his future.
During the 2023-24 season, the 24-year-old played in 54 matches for Manchester City, scoring 19 goals and providing 13 assists. His impressive performance shows he’s eager for a regular spot in the starting lineup.
Recently, journalist Ben Jacobs mentioned that PSG might still pursue Álvarez, but the reigning Premier League champions are hesitant to sell and would need an offer of over £70 million to even consider it.
Additionally, TEAMTalk has reported that Arsenal and Chelsea are preparing to compete for the Manchester City forward this summer. With so many rumors, the former River Plate star spoke about his future as he’s currently playing with Argentina at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
“There’s a lot of talk about my future, but I’m enjoying the Games,” Álvarez said (h/t Diario AS). “At City, I feel good; I’ve played a lot of minutes. We’ll see after the Games if I get some days off and what happens.
“It’s more what people say on social media. I played a lot last season. What really bothers you is being out for important matches because you want to help the team on the pitch. Last season was good personally.”
Álvarez is expected to cost around £77 million as he searches for a club that will give him a more prominent role.
