Paris Saint-Germain appears to be in the market for a striker as Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani’s name finds itself in the transfer rumor mill.
While names like Victor Osimhen and Julián Álvarez are linked to the Parisians, it’s still only July. As a result, could the capital club decide to look elsewhere to find a player that can provide them goals from the No. 9 position?
Journalist and PSG Talk columnist Robin Bairner explained that if the reigning Ligue 1 champions want to swing for the fences AC Milan’s Rafael Leão would be the ideal target for them. Moreover, sporting advisor Luis Campos isn’t shy about pursuing players he has a previous connection.
“If PSG is really willing to push the boat out, Rafael Leão of AC Milan represents an exciting possibility,” Bairner wrote in his column. “The 24-year-old Portugal star is considered in Italy to be the likeliest of the Rossoneri’s stars to remain at the club but possesses a release fee of €175 million.
“There are rumors, but is Al-Khelaifi willing to take such a big punt on a player who finished Serie A with nine goals and ten assists last season?”
Earlier in the year, PSG was linked to the Portuguese standout, but these rumors have gone cold now that the summer transfer window is open. Still, should the Álvarez and Osimhen files get complicated, could they turn to Leão?
