LOSC Lille standout Leny Yoro is the subject of interest from various top European clubs. However, Real Madrid remain the likely destination for the teenage defender and they appear ready to use their leverage.
Yoro’s name has been in the transfer rumor mill over the last couple of months. Moreover, with his contract expiring in 2025, Lille must sell him this summer if he does not renew it.
Despite his young age, Yoro has already showcased his talent by playing in 44 matches during the 2023-24 season. This demonstrates that he’s ready to take on a starting center-back role at a top European club, where the pressure to perform is intense.
Yoro wants a Real Madrid move, and Real Madrid want the Frenchman, but knowing they have leverage, the Spanish side intends to use it. According to MARCA, Real Madrid have chosen not to exceed paying €40 million for Yoro.
This news puts Lille in a challenging position since Liverpool, PSG, and even Manchester United are all prepared to pay the price that Les Dogues have set for the player.
However, Yoro himself only desires to join Real Madrid, meaning the Ligue 1 side could be forced to take a loss on what they feel is the player’s value. If Lille doesn’t lower its asking price, Real Madrid will turn to its backup plan: Riccardo Calafiori, whom they can acquire for less than €40 million.
🚨(🌗) | @Marca: Real Madrid have decided that they 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗧 spend more than €40M for Leny Yoro, fee that Liverpool, PSG, and even Man Utd are willing to pay, although the player just wants Madrid.
↪️ If Lille doesn’t agree to reduce their demands then Real Madrid will…
