Paris Saint-Germain are entering a new era as the capital club will not have the marque superstar that many have become accustomed to. Kylian Mbappé will be leaving to join Real Madrid this summer while Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi left last year.
Moreover, don’t expect the Parisians to splurge to have that next superstar player on their team. When Zlatan Ibrahimović left in 2016, PSG pursued that superstar player in 2017 to replace the Swede with Mbappé and Neymar.
Nonetheless, club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi spoke about the club’s future and the mindset they have as they close this chapter of the superstar era at PSG.
“This is a new era for us; we are very grateful to Messi, Neymar, and Mbappé for everything they have given to the club,” Nasser Al-Khelaïfi told Spanish media outlet MARCA.
“With all due respect to them and for what they have done for the club, I wish them the best in their new challenges; but as a club, the star is the collective. PSG is focusing on the collective, on having a great team with a great coach, which we have.”

PSG does have sporting advisor Luis Campos and manager Luis Enrique to spearhead this new project that will see them build a collective team rather than depend on the talents of superstars.
Will this new process work? It will be interesting to see what transfers they make this summer and how the team performs next season.
