Barcelona, PSG Must Wait as Young Star With 25 Goal Involvements Delays Decision About His Future

There is ongoing speculation about Xavi Simons’ future as we near the summer transfer window. A recent report suggests that the 21-year-old will not be staying with Paris Saint-Germain next season but will be loaned out for a third consecutive year.

Simons made a name for himself at RB Leipzig this season, making 43 appearances across all competitions. His notable stats of 10 goals and 15 assists have caught the attention of several top European clubs.

One of the clubs keen on the player is FC Barcelona as the Spanish side hopes to reunite with the player. However, the La Liga team or another club wanting to secure the player for next season will need to wait.

The PSG player spoke with Eindhovens Dagblad and revealed that his future will not be decided in the next few days.

“I’ll make my decision after [UEFA Euro 2024],” Simons told the outlet. “Right now, my focus is entirely on the tournament. The intense competition in the German championship and the pressure we’ve faced have pushed my development to a new level.”

While several teams are keen on the player, Simons is prepared to turn down top European clubs to make sure he gets the move he desires.

Last month, a report from Mundo Deportivo revealed that Simons prefers to join Barcelona, even though Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle are also interested in him. This saga will only drag on until the Netherlands is done at the Euros.

  1. How can you keep Ruiz and loan out Simons ? PSG is not getting it right.
You have a young star with great talent that your great rival clubs are chasing to sign and you’re happy to loan him out?
I hope that Paris will change their decision and keep this boy.
