Kylian Mbappé will move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid in a few weeks as the Frenchman embarks on a new chapter. Still, the question remains: when will the Spanish side present the player?
Last weekend at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, PSG secured a 2-1 victory over Olympique Lyonnais in the Coupe de France Final. It marked Mbappé’s farewell match with the capital club, though the 25-year-old didn’t find the net for that perfect storybook ending. Nonetheless, he had the chance to lift one last trophy.
OK Diario’s Eduardo Inda spoke on the set of El Chiringuito and noted when the La Liga team hope to present the player considering the tight window with UEFA Euro 2024 beginning next month.
“He asked Real Madrid for it to be before the Euros,” Inda said (h/t Le10Sport). “He would like to come on one of the rest days that Deschamps will grant them. He will need PSG’s permission. He wants to finish the Euro and go on vacation without coming [to Madrid].”
It’s a bittersweet ending, but it’s time for both parties to go their separate ways this summer, and for PSG, it marks a new era, where for now, there’s no true superstar that many have come used to seeing.
