PSG Challenging Barcelona, Real Madrid for Rising Brazilian Star Touted as the Next Cafu

In the January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain went to Brazil to secure two young talents, Gabriel Mocardo and Lucas Beraldo. With the summer transfer window, the capital club could be heading to the South American country again.

PSG have their right-back for the foreseeable future in Achraf Hakimi, but if the Moroccan, whose contract expires in 2026, decides not to extend his contract, the capital club will need to find a replacement.

Pedro Henrique Cardoso de Lima, a 17-year-old, is emerging as a standout talent in the Brazilian Serie B (Second Division) with his team, Sport Recife. As a result, PSG are among the teams that have their eyes on him.

According to Diario AS, Lima’s outstanding performances have caught the attention of top European teams, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, and Juventus.

In Brazil, people are talking about him as the next Cafú, mainly because his playing style resembles that of the former world champion. It’s interesting to mention that he’s already a fixture on the Brazilian youth teams, switching between the U-17 and U-20 squads.

Lima had a significant role in the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, but their journey ended in the quarterfinals when Argentina defeated them.

This season, Sport Recife’s right-back has been quite the fixture on the field, clocking 1,743 minutes across 20 games, which makes up a whopping 96.8 percent of the total playing time. Lima also scored two goals and collected four yellow cards and one red card.

With his outstanding technical abilities in dribbling, ball control, precise crossing, and shooting, this young talent is showing signs of being a future star in European football. Defensively, his physical prowess allows him to tirelessly patrol the flank, making it a tough challenge for opponents to outpace him.
