Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona are the two clubs keen on Manchester City standout Bernardo Silva. The veteran playmaker’s contract has a £50 million release clause, so his price tag isn’t too high.

Nonetheless, there are new developments in this file. With the summer transfer window opening in a few weeks, Barcelona could abandon their pursuit of the 29-year-old.

Recent transfer windows have seen the Blaugrana closely eyeing Silva, with speculation suggesting they might make a move for the Portuguese international this summer.

However, according to Sport, their interest in Silva might wane as they contemplate making a move for Simons. The youngster, who spent nine years in Barca’s youth system, has had an outstanding 2023-24 season on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG.

Still, the Ligue 1 side have no plans to sell Simons to Barcelona. Mundo Deportivo reports that PSG would prefer to sell Simons to RB Leipzig rather than Barcelona. Nonetheless, Leipzig’s issue is whether the German club can afford to pay a high transfer fee.
