Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly lose Kylian Mbappé this summer when his contract expires in late June. The Frenchman is likely to sign with Real Madrid as a free agent and the Parisians might be looking to replace his production.
Over the last few months, the capital club has seen its name linked to various players, one of whom is Manchester United standout Marcus Rashford. TalkSPORT pundit and former Aston Villa player Gabby Agbonlahor believes that PSG should pursue Rashford.
Rashford might need a change of scenery after a challenging 2023-24 season. As a result, Agbonlahor believes that the Englishman would be best serve going abroad to a club like PSG.
“What makes sense is, Kylian Mbappe is talking about moving to Real Madrid so if I was PSG, I would want to buy Rashford,” Agbonlahor said (h/t DAZN). “He’s got that speed and when he’s happy he will be the main man at PSG when Mbappe leaves, and you could see the Rashford of old.
“Manchester United may get £90m from him so why not use the money elsewhere? He’s not happy, he looks angry at the fans and is tweeting at the fans and doesn’t seem in a good place. He’s not happy when he scores, he looks like a player who has been at the club too long and maybe it’s a good move for everyone.”
PSG might not pursue Rashford should they pursue a forward as Victor Osimhen rumors continue to get louder. Nonetheless, there’s also the scenario in which the Ligue 1 side doesn’t pursue a forward and spends money improving other positions within the team.
