As the summer transfer window approaches, the focus is on what lies ahead for Xavi Simons at Paris Saint-Germain. Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano debunked the idea that the 21-year-old will stay with PSG, and now more teams are in the mix for the player.
According to Romano, Simons’ situation has not changed. The youngster is expected to decide his future before UEFA Euro 2024. PSG isn’t keen on selling him this summer, so he’ll probably either stay in Paris or go on loan again until 2025.
Nonetheless, there’s a growing list of suitors for the players. Mundo Deportivo reports that Simons is also drawing interest from another German team, Bayer Leverkusen, where Xabi Alonso is at the helm, and three Premier League clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle.
Still, the report from the Spanish media outlet notes that Simons is going all out to make a comeback to Barça, his lifelong dream ever since he entered La Masia at the age of just 12.
Within the current Barcelona squad, he has several friends from his generation like Gavi, Alejandro Balde, or Fermín, and he’s eager to reunite with them on the pitch.
