This summer, Paris Saint-Germain will have to find a way to fill the gap with the potential departure of Kylian Mbappé. Reports suggest the Frenchman will leave the club when his contract expires in June and join Real Madrid.
As a result, the capital club could pursue a forward and one player who’s reportedly open to playing for PSG is Crystal Palace standout Michael Olise. While nothing is concrete, the 22-year-old is an ideal player that the Parisians should be targeting.
CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson spoke exclusively with PSG Talk, noting the pros and cons of Olise’s file.
“In terms of PSG and links for Michael Olise, I like it,” Johnson said. “I think that that profile of player makes sense to look into. I am wary of the fact that there could be quite a jump going from a club like Crystal Palace to a club like PSG. I don’t have as many concerns in terms of Premier League to Ligue 1.
“I think he’s shown already he is certainly one of the better players that’s currently playing for one of the non-elite top clubs and certainly has the skill set to potentially be a good fit for a bigger club.”
The forward is under contract until 2027, so it will take a significant sum to lure him away from the Eagles. Transfermarkt puts Olise’s transfer value at €50 million, but a move for the winger might require more since Crystal Palace holds leverage due to his contract.
It will be interesting to see if the Parisians pursue a forward this summer and whether Olise is a target, as there will be different Premier League clubs likely vying for the player.
