Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up to take on Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, kicking off with the first leg on Wednesday. With just 180 minutes standing between them and a spot in the final, there’s a lot at stake.
The Parisians have advanced past Real Sociedad in the Round of 16 and FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals. Ahead of the match against Dortmund, PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke to reporters about the contest.
Enrique notes that the previous matchup against Barcelona served them well as they now look to figure out how to advance past the German side.
“This is something we haven’t done yet,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “But I know from experience that the most important thing is to be competitive tomorrow; the past will not count.
“We saw it; we didn’t win in the away group stage and we did it afterwards. History may or may not repeat itself. You have to think about tomorrow’s match to win it, then think about the return. We must be courageous.”
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich ended the first leg with a 2-2 draw at Allianz Arena. Now, all eyes turn to the Spanish capital for the decisive first 90 minutes of the tie.
Following the match, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts, expressing his preferences for the potential final opponents at Wembley Stadium should his team progress past Bayern Munich.
