Xavi Hernandez is out as FC Barcelona manager as Hansi Flick is reportedly taking over the job. So, what does this exactly have to do with Paris Saint-Germain? Well, a report reveals that the Parisians played a role in the Spanish manager’s departure.

Before the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie against PSG, Xavi announced that he was leaving his coaching position at Barcelona. Although, after the tie, it was announced that the 44-year-old would continue as manager, but that didn’t last long.

Xavi and Barcelona against PSG secured an impressive 3-2 first-leg win at the Parc des Princes. However, it was in the second leg that the team fell apart, and the tide began to turn for the Spanish tactician.

According to SPORT, the match against PSG could’ve been a turning point in Xavi’s career, but Ronald Araujo’s red card changed everything.

Barcelona had a 4-2 aggregate lead in the match, but the team crumbled after the Uruguayan defender was sent off. Xavi also received a red card in the second half of the match as his squad lost 6-4 on aggregate, conceding four unanswered goals in the second leg loss.
