As the 2023-24 season is ending, several clubs are punching their ticket to European competitions. One of the clubs that will be playing UEFA Champions League next season is Atlético de Madrid.
Following Diego Simeone and his team’s defeat of Getafe 3-0 on Wednesday, Atlético de Madrid joined Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid in an impressive Champions League feat.
Mundo Deportivo highlighted on X, formerly Twitter, that Simeone has guided the Spanish side to a 12th straight Champions League appearance. Furthermore, before the Argentine boss arrived, the Colchoneros had been to the Champions League on eight occasions.
💪 Histórico Simeone y su Atlético, 12 veces consecutivas Champions.
😳 Sólo City, PSG, Barça, Bayern y Real Madrid lo lograron.

Atlético de Madrid and PSG are two clubs that haven’t lifted the trophy despite qualifying for the competition several times. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Real Madrid have won the competition in the last 14 years.
It will be interesting to see if Atlético de Madrid and PSG can finally lift the trophy after making such a high number of appearances in the competition.
